Abstract

This study aimed to recognize the impact of learning the hand spring skill on the level f achievement in high jump. The researchers apply the empirical method in the form of an experimental group and the control group, and the sample has been selected of 22 students from the Track and Field course level (2). In the first term of the academic year 1998 -1999, a pre-test has been performed for the two groups consists of physical and skill tests. The guivalence has been established between the members of the two groups in age, height and weight variables. And it has been confirmed that the two groups are equal on such tests, then the researchers apply the proposed training program for learning the Backward hand spring and the procedure for learning high jump for eight weeks, with a frequency hour per training unit for the experimental group at the same time, the control group practiced the Physical and skills exercises related to learning the high jump skill only for eight weeks with 3 sessions per week. The results indicated that there are statistical significant differences between post test for the experimental group, and that learning the Backward hand spring skill help to increase the achievement level of high jump in the experimental group.
