Abstract

The sunnah is considered the second source of Islam. While the correct prophetic Traditions have played a positive role in explanation of Islamic Teachings, the weak and false Traditions have played a negative role in distorting the image of Islam among Muslims and non-Muslims. This essay is an attempt to expose the effects of these Traditions on various fields of Faith, and on different aspects of Muslim education, especially the treatment of women in Muslim societies.
